spunQ can be used to operate websites, complex intranet and extranet projects, online shops, product catalogues, address administrations, editorial systems, and much more. spunQ offers all the features of an Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS).
The data can be edited directly in spunQ or can be imported from other applications (such as SAP). All operations are performed within a common browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox).

The first version of the software was developed in 1999. In 2005, the basic module was published by the Viennese concern strg.at as open source software.
